Sailing FAQ's

How early before the departure time do I need to arrive?

We ask passengers to arrive at least 15 min before departure to check in and ensure we leave on time. 

Are there toilets on board?

Yes, there are toilets onboard below decks accessible by a short but steep ladder style stair. If you have mobility issues please contact the office for more information.

There are toilets for patrons at T42 and Fish Frenzy if they're open. The nearest public toilets are on Elizbeth St at Franklin Square Gardens.

Where do the 90 minutes sailings go?

Where we go will depend on the weather and wind conditions but the general area we sail includes north of the Tasman Bridge, Bellerive and Wrest Point casino.

This area is sheltered harbour sailing with little or no swell so sea sickness is very rare. If you are concerned you may experience sea sickness, we recommend you talk to a pharmacist in advance of sailing.

What should I wear?  

It's usually colder on the water under sail than on the land so bring a warm jacket or extra layer. A weather proof jacket is strongly recommended if there is any chance of rain and often a good idea just to keep the wind out.

We also recommend covered shoes and a hat or headcovering that will not blow off (whether for warmth or sun protection).

What is the cancellation policy?

Our sailings are weather dependent - if we need to cancel for any reason you will be given a 100% refund.

We understand travel plans may need to change, if you need to cancel, please contact enquiries@ladynelson.org.au or ring 6234 3348 with as much advance notice as possible.
 

Cancellations -Short Sails

  • No show or cancellation after the departure time: no refund 
  • Cancellation within 48 hours of the departure time: 50% refund *
  • Cancellation before 48 hours of the departure time: 100% refund less a $5 administration fee *

* Alternatively, we can provide a gift voucher for use at another time for the full cost value
 

Cancellations- Multi Day Sails

  • Booking deposit - No Refund
  • Cancellation within 7 days of the departure time - No refund *
  • Cancellation within 21 days of the departure time - 50% refund *
  • Cancellations before 21 days of the departure time - 100% refund less $15 administration fee 

* If we are able to re-sell a cancelled berth we will only charge the $15 cancellation handling fee.

We recommend all guests take out travel insurance to cover unforseen changes to travel plans.
