4 Day - 3 night Sail and Walk Around South Eastern Tasmania

Are you ready for a Tall Ship Sailing Adventure from Hobart?

This four day, three night trip is an ideal taste of Tall Ships life while sailing around the beautiful South East of Tasmania.  Where will we go?  That really depends on the weather but options could include sailing around Bruny Island, Frederick Henry Bay and Norfolk Bay.  If the wind is not too willing a bit of a sail around Storm Bay.  We could even get to Port Arthur, perhaps Fortesque Bay (if the weather is ok to get there (and back).

We can also get you ashore for some short but scenic bushwalks.

Towards evening we will find a scenic bay and anchor for the night.

Depart: Hobart 0900  Sunday January 23
Return: around 1600 Wednesday Jan 26.

Cost: $850  includes all meals.

Lunches/snacks will be provided for the longer walks and you will return onboard each day for light refreshments or to the hearty meals prepared fresh each day by our onboard chef.  The Lady Nelson galley is small but we can cater for many special diets.  However, there is a trend towards quite complicated diet requirements that we may not be able to fulfill.  If you have special dietary needs please check with our office before booking.

You will need to bring suitable clothing for both sailing and walking. Please see the attached list of recommended gear. Incude water shoes as there may be “wet” landing – change into your bushwalking boots once on dry land. special diets so please advise us of any special requirements when booking.

Your Tasks

You can climb the masts, furl and unfurl the sails, steer the ship, handle the lines, help out all round or watch the crew do it.  Most people who come away on our trips want to get involved in sailing the ship.  You do not have to go up the masts (unless you want to).  It will be entirely up to you how much you get involved in the sailing versus just enjoying Tassie's spectacular coast as it passes you by.  After dinner you may want to join in singing a sea shanty or two.

Physical Capabilities

While the physical demands of sailing are up to you, you will need to able to move around a multi decked ship including 'going below' via ships ladders (a cross between stairs and a ladder). If you want to go ashore you need to climb into our ships tender (dingy) .If you are unsure, contact our office on 03 6234 3348 and we can provide advice.

We have 2 toilets and 2 showers and beds are bunkhouse style.
