Welcome to the home of the Tasmanian Sail Training Association and home of the Brig

"Lady Nelson"

Based at the beautiful, picturesque waterfront of Hobart and just minutes walk from the center of town, the full size replica of the original Deptford Built Brig is a popular sight with locals and tourists alike.
Sailing each weekend and during the week for private charters she sails majestically up and down the River Derwent to the joy and delight of her passengers who are offered the opportunity to help set sails, take a turn at the helm or just enjoy the feel of a traditional sailing ship at sea. For the younger folk there are organized "Pirate" sails and for the slightly older sailors a "Taste of sail" is offered which provides an exciting opportunity to join the crew aloft and learn how to handle sails. For the more adventurous folk around adventure sails are held periodically. Leaving Friday night and returning Sunday these aim to provide the complete sailing experience. (See our special programme for details)
If you ever wanted to sail on a traditional square rigged ship, then Lady Nelson could be just the thing for you.
